Biography:
Although this may be the debut CD of the band
SLEEZER, founder John Sleezer is a performance
veteran who has truly lived a rock and roll
lifestyle. John was raised playing polkas and
waltzes on his accordion, but being exposed
to the Beatles and then shipped off to military
school in Tennessee changed that for good. Upon
arrival, Sleezer soon joined the Drum and Bugle
corps, where his penchant for beating on mom’s
Tupperware was transformed by a learning experience
that honed him into an impressive percussionist.
But it was after military school, when John
moved back home to Illinois and sold his accordion
for an electric guitar that his rock and roll
journey began. From his first band, “Oz,”
formed in the ‘70s, to his most recent
CD, I Remember, John Sleezer’s rock journey
reads like a classic Spinal Tap story of success
in the face of travesty. Suffering through his
studio burning down, and various bandmates retiring,
dying, landing in jail, and falling off roofs,
John has weathered many trials and tribulations
over the years that have only served to mature
his own songwriting, singing, and guitar playing.
Here on the impressive and rocking I Remember,
John Sleezer (guitar/vocals) is joined by bandmates
Jeff Wild (drums) and John Lessick (bass) to
form a power trio that can crank out rock and
roll originals with fiery abandon. With John’s
gritty and expressive vocals and a classic rock
instrumental sound, you may sometimes feel like
you’re listening to Eddie Money fronting
Van Halen. But SLEEZER isn’t about making
rock and roll just for the sake of stirring
up some noise. Through the layered guitars and
solid rhythm section, you’ll also find
a cache of impressive songs about love and life
on I Remember. Please give our CD a listen and
shoot us an email if you put it on the air or
just want to get in touch. Thanks for giving
new music a chance!
